We installed the SharePoint 2010 version of the Discussion Board feature on a test server, and (unlike our experience with SharePoint 2007), whenever we add the KWizCom Discussion Board Index web part to a page, the page hangs on the update and never responds on any future attempts to access the page.  Has anyone else encountered this?  Obviously, we'll have to abandon any hope of using this web part when we complete our SP2010 upgrade, if this can't be corrected.

Hi,

I was not able to replicate this issue, as it is working on my dev  and test servers.

More info is needed, and it seems that perhaps a live meeting would be the best (and quickest) solution.

Could you please supply the following information:

1. Version of the product

2. Version of KWizCom foudnation installed

3. Is it MOSS or Foundation?

4. Is it a clean install, or an upgrade?

5. Are you using a custom master page?

6. Any other 3rd party components on the page?

Thanks, and don't worry - I am sure we can resolve this issue quickly and efficiantly!

1. Version of the product

SharePoint Forum Web Part v12.1.00 Evaluation

2. Version of KWizCom foudnation installed

SharePoint Foundation v13.2.73

3. Is it MOSS or Foundation?
MOSS

4. Is it a clean install, or an upgrade?

Upgrade

5. Are you using a custom master page?

Yes, carried forward from the previous SharePoint 2007 implementation

6. Any other 3rd party components on the page?

No, just out-of-the box components like a discussion list, task list, etc.

Hi,

Thanks for all the information you provided!

It seems to be a simple confusion, we have 2 products:

1. Forum web part: http://www.kwizcom.com/sharepoint-add-ons/sharepoint-forum-web-part/overview/

2. Discussion board: http://www.kwizcom.com/sharepoint-add-ons/sharepoint-discussion-board-feature/overview/

Looks like you are trying to add the discussion board feaute's index web part, but have installed our forum web part for 2010.

If this is the case, please go to discussion board feature downloads page and get the latest 2010 version of that product, install it and try to add the web part again.

P.S if you run an inplace upgrade on your 2007 machine, there are additional steps you need to take before installing the 2010 version, like removing the 2007 version from add / remove programs.

Please let us know if this resolved the issue you are experiencing.

Thanks, Shai.
