Hello Guys,

I´m getting an error after clicking on the Discussions Button in a Wiki-Article:
http://forum.kwizcom.com/Uploads/Images/65e547e6-1abb-4d4e-aa40-60a7.jpg

BTW, there is an icon missing :D

The error ist the generic Sharepoint "Unexpected Error":

http://forum.kwizcom.com/Uploads/Images/32afe90a-7002-46d4-a575-e3d9.jpg

The Sharepoint log shows the following entry:

http://forum.kwizcom.com/Uploads/Images/5c1db4ce-8992-43c9-854e-af10.jpg

Interesting note: If I change the url that the button wants to open from "/Wiki-Seiten/Forms/DiscussionFlat.aspx" to "/Lists/KWizCom_WikiPlusDiscussions/Flat.aspx", the page shows a list of all discussions related to this Article.
Isn´t that, what the Button was supposed to do?

Thanks for looking,

Marcus

1. The icon that is missing in the screenshot should have the following URL: /_layouts/images/icon_addToView_16px.gif. But, from the screenshot you posted it doesn't look like the icon file is missing on the server, but instead, has been resized incorrectly and not able to show the image. If the image were missing you would see the standard red "x".

2. The button is not supposed to go to the actual discussion list. Each WikiPlus library two additional pages called DicussionFlat.aspx and DiscussionThreaded.aspx. When you click the discussion button it should take you to a URL that looks like this:

http://srv2k3:1406/sites/team/test2/Wiki%20Pages/Forms/DiscussionFlat.aspx?RootFolder=/sites/team/test2/Lists/KWizCom_WikiPlusDiscussions/Wiki PagesHow To Use This Wiki Site.aspx&Parentpage=http%3A%2F%2Fsrv2k3%3A1406%2Fsites%2Fteam%2Ftest2%2FWiki%20Pages%2FHow%20To%20Use%20This%20Wiki%20Site%2Easpx

3. The error reported in the log has nothing to do with the discussion button/page error.

In order to get a closer look at the problem can you enable debugging, stack trace and disable custom errors in your web.config and post the error message? I think that your discussionflat.aspx and discussionthreaded.aspx files have not been updated correctly.

Cheers,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,

here are my findings:

1. I checked the icon on the Server, looks perfectly alright for me. According to the Source Code, there is no link to any .gif:

http://forum.kwizcom.com/Uploads/Images/dd342784-d5d1-4f0f-9438-0275.jpg

2. Here ist the new Error Message after I enabled stack trace and debugging:

http://forum.kwizcom.com/Uploads/Images/85eacdfe-94b5-4666-aac2-8472.jpg

ArgumentException: The specified view is invalid.

And yes, the complete Button URL has the same structure like the one you specified.

Kind regards,

Marcus
